Autism Treatment by the Unique Method
Autism is a fairly common, little-studied and poorly treatable disorder of the central nervous system, which develops in form of disturbance of mental development of the child.
The name of this disease comes from the Latin word autos - «itself» (autism means immersion in itself). An autistic child lives in his own world, he poorly understands and accepts the events occurring around him. An autist avoids contact with people, including parents, may not respond to speech addressed to him, which often leads one to suspect in these children hearing disorders. Despite the strangeness, an autistic child can be highly intelligent and even have genius abilities in any field. At the same time, this child may not have simple domestic and social skills.
The exact causes of autism development are unknown; most likely, this disorder is the result of a complex combination of genetic, environmental and immunological factors. The disease is associated with modifications in several genes, what makes its treatment particularly difficult. In its development play role oxidative stress, endoplasmic reticulum stress, reducing methylation potential, glutathione deficiency, mitochondrial dysfunction, intestinal dysbiosis, immune activation of neuroglia cells. Of certain importance are hypoperfusion and ischemia in certain parts of the brain. Environmental factors (e.g. air pollution, phosphates, heavy metals) also contribute to the development of autism.
Autism or autism spectrum disorders such as Asperger syndrome, Rett syndrome, childhood disintegrative disorder, and early childhood autism are characterized by impaired communication skills and lack of social interaction. The appearance of symptoms of autism at the age of 2-2.5 years is often preceded by various pathologies of pregnancy, birth trauma, birth asphyxia. Children with autism tend to stereotype verbal and nonverbal behavior, narrowing the range of interests. They are anxious, easily excitable, sensitive and closed, they are defenseless to the outside world and at the same time aggressive even with parents. These children hardly acquire domestic and social skills.
Autism can vary in severity from mild to full withdrawal from reality.
Autism spectrum disorders are increasingly recognized as a public health problem.
The most widely used methods of autism therapy are: behavioral (medical and family therapy and trainings), changes in diet (gluten-free and casein-free diet) and pharmacological. For maximum effect, it is important to start treatment as early as possible. So far, there is no gold standard in treatment of autism. Only stem cell therapy has in greater or lesser extent a positive effect on all symptoms of this disorder.
UNIQUE CELL TREATMENT CLINIC has developed a comprehensive program with the use of fetal stem cells for effective autism treatment.
Our clinical experience has clearly demonstrated that fetal stem cell treatment is effective for different autism spectrum disorders of any degree. Autism progression can be slowed or even temporarily blocked by transplantation of fetal stem cells. Among the population of stem cells, mesenchymal stem cells show the best results. Due to the nature of nervous and immune dysregulation that occurs in patients with autism, transplantation of mesenchymal stem cells may become a unique treatment method of autism spectrum disorders. The ability of these cells to migrate to the injury site and participate in the process of recovery is a key moment in regeneration of nerve tissue. Recent studies showed that mesenchymal stem cells of fetal origin normalize the immune reaction. Another studies showed that hematopoietic stem cells CD34+ of fetal origin stimulate angiogenesis (growth of new blood vessels), which allows to use them in cases when the disease is associated with hypoperfusion and ischemia.
The method of fetal stem cell treatment developed by Professor Smikodub and used for treatment in the UNIQUE CELL TREATMENT CLINIC is based on the combined application of stem cells of fetal origin of various types, including mesenchymal and hematopoietic stem cells. This gives the most pronounced positive effect in treatment of autism, improving perfusion (blood flow) of the brain and normalizing the immune system. The treatment blocks immune disorders, and thus has a positive effect on the functioning of central nervous system. The main therapeutic effect is achieved through the restoration of damaged due to disease neural connections, creating new neural connections in the brain and other parts of the nervous system.
Investigations of the brain of patients with autism showed signs of disruption to the cerebellum due to a decrease in number of Purkinje cells. Administrated into the patient's body fetal stem cells of mesenchymal origin are able to increase synaptic plasticity and promote functional recovery of the brain.
As a result of the cell therapy in our patients are observed following improvements:
1. The child has decreased aggression to himself and others; he becomes calmer, adequate;
2. Decrease of abnormal reactions to sudden and loud sounds, as well as to bright light, the child becomes less anxious;
3. Improves communication skills and interaction with others (eye contact, facial expression of emotions, gestures);
4. The child becomes more cooperative, learns faster, it is easier for him to perceive the learning process;
5. Reduces appearance of repetitive and stereotyped behavior, increases the range of interests;
6. Improves speech both receptive (understanding) and expressive (reproduction), decreases echolalia, appears progress in pronunciation of sounds and words, in a short time increases vocabulary;
7. Reduces obsessive attachment to specific, nonfunctional actions or rituals;
8. Reduces fatigue, the child is able to increase the time of learning; it is easier for him to tolerate travels and medical procedures;
9. Diet of the child expands;
10. As a result of more intensive training, the success in self-service and personal hygiene achieves quicker.
Treatment with fetal stem cells gives the most positive results in combination with medical intensive behavioral psychotherapy with the active participation of parents in the child's development. Persistent clinical effect after treatment maintained on average 6-12 months.
In some cases, patients should periodically repeat fetal stem cell treatment every 1.5 - 2 years. The course "autism treatment" in the UNIQUE CELL TREATMENT CLINIC, as a rule, takes 2 days.
